First Aid Response Instructor (incl CFR) - Recertification
Introduction
The aim of the First Aid Response Instructor (including CFR) recertification course is to refresh and update your knowledge, skills, and attitude to ensure you remain competent in training others to become First Aid Responders.
Entry criteria
- Valid First Aid Response Instructor certification.
- Valid CFR instructor certification.
- Evidence of a balance of FAR and CFR courses delivered; minimum 4 courses in the preceding 2 years.
Recertification Course Requirements and Assessment Details
Topic Presentation:
- Instructors will be assigned a specific topic from the PHECC FAR (First Aid Response) course.
- You are required to prepare and present this topic within a 15-minute timeframe.
- Deliver the content as if the audience consists of new learners, ensuring clarity and effective teaching methods.
Skills Assessment:
- On the day your CFR (Cardiac First Response) and FAR Instructor skills will be evaluated.
- You will also be tasked with assessing the skills of other students during this session.
- You must ensure you have your FAR/CFR equipment and skills sheets prepared and ready for use.
Certification
Persons who successfully complete the First Aid Response Instructor (incl CFR) recertification course plus the evaluation will be certified as a First Aid Response ( incl CFR) instructor. Award of joint PHECC/RECFIRSTAID LTD First Aid Response Instructor cards/certificates by the recognised institution is mandatory. Certification lapses after 2 years.
